Year 5 had the exciting opportunity to take part in a live online STEM day as part of the Road to Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) programme.

During the morning, we became engineers as we designed and built our own gliders, testing and flying them before calculating their speed using their results.

In the afternoon, we turned our attention to the future of aviation by designing a sustainable aircraft, thinking carefully about how to make air travel more environmentally friendly.

The interactive session was both engaging and inspiring, giving the children a real insight into the world of science, technology, engineering, and maths.
